Spann and Spann, P.C. is a professional corporation with it's establishment in the legal community since 1954.
The practice includes representing individuals as well as corporate clients. The practice includes state and federal law and even international custody law.
James J. Spann, Esq. has practiced civil law litigation primarily in the areas of matrimonial and personal injury law since 1985 while maintaining his position as a local Magistrate since 1986.
In the area of negligence litigations, he has recently represented plaintiffs who sustained personal injuries from defective products such as defective furnaces, garage doors and stepping stools, together with automobile, motorcycle accidents and premises liability. In the area of matrimonial cases, Attorney Spann has tried many cases in Supreme Court and Family Court regarding divorce, custody and support, and has even handled international cases involving the Hague Treaty. He has handled several appeals regarding matrimonial matters.
James Spann and his staff also handles Wills and estate matters, real estate (both residential and commercial) as well as corporate issues.
Anthony J. Spann, Esq. is of counsel and has been practicing since 1954. He began his career with the Dunkirk New York law firm of Palmer & Rowe in 1956. He has practiced extensively in Federal, State and Appellate Courts.
His experience includes trying numerous cases before juries and arguing cases before Appellate Courts. Mr. Spann's cases have also been reported in the New York Jury Pattern Instructions, used extensively by trial judges and juries.
Mr. Spann was also a long time member of the Attorney Grievance Committee
Practice areas primarily include matrimonial law (divorce and custody) and personal injury, including products liability and other torts. However, the Spann Law firm provides legal services in other areas of general practice, including corporate law, real estate and criminal law.
Locations of practice include Chautauqua, Erie and Cattaraugus Counties.
James J. Spann
James J. Spann was admitted to the New York State Bar as an attorney in 1985 and the District of Columbia in 1986. He has argued cases in Federal Court, New York State Appellate Court and the Supreme Courts of this State, as well Surrogate and Family Courts. He has also held the positions of Village and/or Town Magistrate since 1987.
Mr. Spann has been a past president of the Chautauqua County Bar Association, and also held other officer positions with same. Mr. Spann holds memberships with the New York State Bar Association, the Erie County Bar Association, and the Northern Chautauqua County Bar Association, as well as the New York Magistrates Association.
Mr. Spann's commitment to the County of Chautauqua community includes his participation as a former board member of the Chautauqua County Legal Services, Jamestown Family Services, and the Westfield Counseling Services, and a guest lecturer for the PEACE Program.
James Spann was named was listed in the 1996-1997 Who's Who in American Law.
